What is Retinal Dysplasia?
Retinal dysplasia is the abnormal development of the retina, causing single or multiple folds in retinal tissue. Vision may or may not be affected.
What are the clinical signs of Retinal Dysplasia?
Unless vision is affected, there are no outward signs of retinal dysplasia.
What causes Retinal Dysplasia?
Retinal dysplasia may be hereditary in certain breeds or secondary to viruses, vitamin deficiencies, intrauterine trauma, toxicities, or drug-induced.
What is the treatment for Retinal Dysplasia?
There is no treatment for retinal dysplasia. In most cases, it is advised not to use affected dogs for breeding.
